About the Role - Collaborating most closely with commercial lenders as well as credit and third-party vendors, the Commercial Loan Specialist documents and perfects collateral for new and renewed commercial loans. Responsible for commercial loan processing activities including knowledge of software, systems, regulations and policy. Maintains professional relationships with internal and external contacts to ensure successful commercial loan processing for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for drafting new and renewed commercial loan documents such as construction loans, letters of credit, term loans, lines of credit and participation loans.
- Maintains a high degree of knowledge in all bank programs, ensuring timely quality service and accuracy for all activities.
- Maintains knowledge of commercial loan programs including but not limited to Small Business Administration (SBA), rate SWAP financing and participations purchased.
- Perfects the Bank’s interest in security agreements to ensure the Bank is in the proper collateral lien position.
- Responsible for coordinating supporting documentation such as organizational documents, title work, insurance and any other required items.
- Reviews and analyzes supporting documentation and searches (ie : DFI, UCC, flood) obtained to support the approved loan transaction.
- Disburses loan proceeds and onboards loans in the Bank’s core system (FISERV Navigator).
- Orders and processes appraisals for commercial loans.
- Reviews construction draw requests and disburses funds according to loan officer approval.
- Ensures accurate loan records in both paper and electronic format.
- Works collaboratively within the loan operations team performing daily department tasks such as account and system maintenance, maintaining and developing procedures, and project-related assignments.
- Maintains awareness of legal requirements and best practices, adhering to established bank policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
- Other activities as needed to drive toward our vision and fulfill our mission as a loan operations team and organization.
