About the team
As a part of the vital Stripe Data Pipeline team, you will be responsible for building critical data processing pipelines helping Stripe customers understand key insights about their business. You will make decisions that inform a pivotal tool that enables companies to extract data to provide valuable business insights. What you’ll do
As a member of the Stripe Data Pipeline team, you’ll be responsible for shaping and building infrastructure that pulls data from Stripe’s Data Warehouse and transforms it into relevant, actionable data sets for Stripe and its customers. You will assist in building and maintaining our data processing platforms, ensuring the data is available and partitioned correctly. You will utilize technologies like Spark, Python, Scala, and Airflow, to handle both intricate Stripe API and comprehensive Reporting datasets. We are looking for engineers passionate about shaping the future of data processing, seamless user experiences, robust APIs and in enhancing the functionality of our Stripe Data Pipeline and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Handle the processing and management of data from Stripe into a third-party data warehouse like Snowflake or Redshift.
- Maintain and enhance the Stripe Data Pipeline by using technologies including Spark, Python, Kafka and Airflow.
- Build and optimize systems for secure and efficient data sharing.
- Understand Stripe Data Pipeline users' specifications improve system functionality and customer experience.
- Contribute to the smooth operations and resolution of active incidents.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- Over five years of experience building software applications in large scale distributed systems.
- A strong sense of curiosity and a desire to both learn and share knowledge with your peers. We like to work in a collaborative environment and hope you do too.
- A solid engineering background and experience with infrastructure and/or distributed systems. You’ll work mostly in Python and Scala but we care more about your general engineering skills than your knowledge of a specific language.
- Familiarity with the full life cycle of software development, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
- Experience with building and maintaining high availability, low latency systems, especially with respect to reliability, testing, and observability.
- A sense of pragmatism: you know when to aim for the ideal solution and when to adjust course.
Preferred qualifications
- Proficient in improving the performance of distributed systems.
- Prior exposure to stream processing systems such as Kafka.
- Experience with data warehousing providers like Snowflake and Redshift.
